The perfect summer nail shade

Nails Inc- Haymarket

I was browsing TK Maxx the other day looking for a birthday gift for a friend. I didn't find anything but just as I was leaving a saw a shelf full of reduced price beauty goodies, being a bargain hunter I couldn't resist having a quick look! The section of Nails inc polishes was what caught my eye first, at 3.99 each I decided it was too much of a good deal not to pick one up as they normally retail for about £10. I decided to go for 'Haymarket' in the end, its a lovely duck egg blue colour with hints of mint green- perfect for summer! I know I'll be getting loads of wear out of this polish. If you have a TK Maxx near you I would have a look as these reduced items could be in all stores.

Primark P.S Love eye shadow palette

I got this Primark eyeshadow palette about a week ago and I've been using it loads. There are a couple of palettes in this range, one with night appropriate shades and one with shades more suitable for day time wear. I opted for the day time shades as I thought I would get most wear of out these colours. All 8 shades are really pigmented which I wasn't expecting consider the £2.50 price tag.

The mix of both soft pink shades and darker smoky shades in this palette makes it so easy to create a range of looks which is what I love as it gives more versatility. The consistency of these shadows isn't too chalky either, this tends to be a peeve of mine when it comes to eyeshadow. I've found even with more expensive brands like Urban Decay fallout and chalkiness is still a problem despite the hefty prices.

If your just starting out with makeup or need a palette to take on holiday I recommend this! Although its not the most amazing palette ever for the price you can hardly grumble.

Primark beauty haul

Primark have added loads of  products to their beauty range recently. I repurchased a couple of my favourites, the fashion nails and sultry lashes, they are such a steal at only £1 each!! I always seems to pick up a pair of lashes everytime I go to Primark because even if you just use them once its hardly breaking the bank. Also, these lashes are perfect for using on other people, especially for a makeup kit or special occasion.

The lashes set and lipstick are both new additions to the beauty range and I am so excited to try them. The set of four different lashes was only £3! That's amazing value considering they are all different, works out at around 75p a pair so a little cheaper than the normal individual strip lashes. I'm pretty tempted to go and pick a few more sets of these up if I like them.

The lipstick is a lovely beige pink colour and was £1.50, I think this is a reasonable price for a lipstick. To be honest I picked this up on a whim to see what the new lipsticks are like so I'm not expecting amazing results but who knows it might surprise me!

I really recommend the Primark beauty range, especially for the strip lashes as with a good glue they can give a lovely finish and there are a few styles to pick from. I will update on how I get on with these products in another post soon.

Have you tried the Primark beauty range?

Favourite MAC lipsticks for spring/summer

    (L-R) Girl about town// Impassioned// Snob//Viva glam II

I seem to have accumulated quite a lot of MAC lipsticks over the last few months. I definitely reached for certain lipsticks in the winter months, Rebel by MAC being a favourite as it suited the darker autumnal colours. However, for spring and summer I normally choose brights and nudes for an easy pop of colour or  something nice and neutral to compliment an outfit.

Girl About Town- This is a lovely bright pink with blue undertones which really brightens and whitens my smile. I normally reach for this on nights out, or if I feel a bit 'Bleh' and need a pick-me-up. Since it is so bright I normally reserve it for summer or nights out, but if I'm feeling daring I might wear this during winter.

Impassioned-  I love the warm corals tones of this Impassioned. It is amplified crème like Girl about town so looks really bright and vivid on the lips. This is a lipstick I picked up last summer before my holiday in duty free and I think it was a really good buy as I got loads of wear out of it on holiday, and it lasted amazingly in the sweaty temperatures of Turkey, Bonus!

Snob- I find this lipstick only really suits me in the summer as I tend to be (slightly) less pale. Because it has lilac and blue undertones It can make certain skin tones look a bit sickly and ill. If applied correctly though this can look lovely! I like to wear only a sheer application and put a lipgloss or lip balm over the top. A good drug store dupe for this lipstick is 'Pink pout' by Revlon and is much more affordable for people on a budget.

Viva Glam II- I only recently purchased Viva Glam but it has already become a firm favourite. It suits me when I have a tan and when I'm pale so its in a winner in my eyes. I have been looking for a nice nude for quite some time, I have more pinky ones and some brown toned nude lipsticks but this one seems to combine the best of both.
